Announcing our expansion into Casa Ilumina
18th Street Casa de Cultura is excited to announce our latest expansion into Casa Ilumina, located across the street from our cultural center, at 2032 W 18th Street. Casa Ilumina is the new home of our Ilumina program, which aims to tend to the structural harm of our communities by actively engaging in holistic collective and individual healing and wellness practices with ancestral transformation wisdom. This expansion stems from the understanding that in order for our community and cultural work to be sustainable, we must continue to commit to our collective and individual physical, mental, and spiritual health. We believe our ancestors had the wisdom for this work and that within indigenous cultures worldwide are the tools we need to live whole, fulfilling lives in harmony with ourselves, each other, and the universe. Through Casa Ilumina we seek to continue to grow our Ilumina programming as a resource, offering more opportunities for our community to actively engage in their healing journeys and commit to our collective wellbeing.
We are launching with an opening series of workshops facilitated by our core Casa Ilumina collaborators who will continue to consistently share their knowledge in our house Ilumina programming. We hope to continue building values-aligned partnerships with all of the incredible local people and organizations doing important healing work so that Casa Ilumina can be a vessel, container, and amplifier of all of the wisdom that already exists in our neighborhoods and city.
